Trinity Digital Exam Checklist

✅ Before You Begin

  1. Check Your Requirements

    • Make sure you know what’s required for your instrument/voice grade, including:

      • Number of pieces

      • Technical work (if applicable)

      • Performance notes (for Performance Grades)

      • Any specific camera angles.

  2. Prepare the Space

    • Choose a quiet, well-lit location with no background noise or interruptions.

    • Ensure the background is clean and not distracting.

  3. Dress Appropriately

    • Dress smartly as you would for a live exam.

    • Avoid clothes that blend into the background or have loud patterns.


🎥 Video Recording Setup

  1. Camera Positioning

    • Use a smartphone, tablet, or camera with good video quality (720p or 1080p).

    • Place the camera horizontally (landscape mode).

    • Ensure:

      • The performer’s entire body and instrument are visible (especially hands and face).

      • The instrument and playing technique are clearly captured.

      • For singers: full upper body (face to waist) should be visible.

  2. Sound Quality

    • Use the device’s built-in mic or an external microphone if available.

    • Avoid background noise and echo.

    • Test volume levels before recording to prevent distortion.

  3. Lighting

    • Make sure the room is well-lit (natural or artificial light).

    • Avoid strong backlighting from windows or lamps behind you.


🎼 During the Recording

  1. Introduction (Compulsory)

    • Look into the camera and say clearly:

      • Your full name

      • The instrument or voice part you’re performing

      • The grade and the pieces (titles and composers)

  2. Performance

    • Perform all required pieces in one continuous take (no edits, no cuts).

    • Follow the order specified by Trinity (if given).

    • Ensure transitions between pieces are natural and keep the recording running.

    • â›” There should be no camera shakes when recording.

  3. Accompaniment (if required)

    • Live or pre-recorded accompaniment is allowed (depending on instrument/grade).

    • Ensure the backing track is audible and balanced with your performance.

  • Edit or cut your video.

  • Add titles, filters, or effects.

  • Record in multiple takes.

  • Use auto-tune or sound enhancement software.

  • Include any talking or distractions apart from the introduction.


💾 After Recording

  1. Watch Your Video

    • Make sure everything is clearly visible and audible.

    • Confirm it follows all guidelines.

    • Rename the file as:
      FullName_Instrument_Grade_Batch.mp4
      e.g., AmarachiInnocent_Voice_Grade1_Batch2.mp4

  2. Upload Your Video

    • Use the portal e-classroom channel (or link) to upload your recording .

    • Follow the steps to submit your video and any supporting documents.

  3. Deadline

    • Submit your video within on the specific date of exam.

    • Late uploads will not be accepted.

  • Do a test recording first.

  • Have your music scores ready (originals or approved copies).

  • Have someone assist with recording if needed.

  • Save a backup copy before uploading.
